Sarah Kishpaugh


Sarah is an educator who wrote her first book when she was caring for her children after her spouse survived a serious accident. The book is a short memoir and is forthcoming from Red Hen Press in 2017.

Sarah's non-fiction work touches on real life struggles as she explores the intricacies of family relationships. Her essays and articles have appeared in places like The New York Times, Salon, and Bitch magazine. Sarah won an Honorable Mention from Glimmer Train magazine's Short Story Award for New Writers. She was a scholarship recipient for the inaugural Quest Writer's Conference in Squamish, B.C. in 2015.

Sarah earned her MFA in Creative Writing from Goddard College. She works at a public high school organizing outreach projects like peer-tutoring and the Natural Leaders program. She occasionally teaches memoir writing at Edmonds Community College's Continuing Education program. Sarah provides editorial consultation for self-publishing authors, as well as content production for business-to-business marketing firms.
